Fuel supply

Baltra Island is located next the main Island of Santa Cruz, the only fuel Station in the Galapagos, and it is administered by the Ecuadorean Oil Co, PETROCOMERCIAL, from where diesel fuel is available prior to obtain a normal authorization process,
In which our agency can purchase it , with a FUEL CODE, obtained from Petrocomercial.
Such purchase we need to anticipate about a couple of days before the yacht can go to the fuel dock, And start re-fueling, PETROCOMERCIAL important policy,
Captains and Engineers need to know an exact amount of fuel , since the Oil Co, have the Central Offices at the city of Guayaquil, and since the purchase is on the Santa Cruz island, it is not possible to buy more fuel that was already requested and even worse, to leave any left over fuel , therefore when we purchase the fuel we make sure it will be an exact amount, the Oil Co, will not reimburse for left over diesel fuel
PRICES
There is a prices variation, depending on the day of the week, but in general prices are set the first business day of the month through the last day of that month, As an agency, the process of purchasing fuel through the Santa Cruz local bank, are normally Monday thru Friday, but deliveries are all through the 7 days of the week,
FUEL DOCK INFORMATION, Dock length is 240 feet long and 30 feet deep, depending on the yacht size , yachts can line up along the side dock, or with the Stern side close to the dock, but now days there is a good option to get the fuel through any of the private barges with extensive capacity up to 18.000 US Gallons of fuel, and avoid the inconveniences of such maneuvers, There are 2 loading fuel hoses at the dock, the longest is about 35 meters hose, with a standard 2 inches nozzle size.
Lately, because of the increasing number of local and foreign yachts for re-fueling, we work in a very precise manner to obtain fuel on a great time coordination with our customers, in order to avoid time consuming, which on most yachts, fueling comes at the end of their cruise Itinerary, just prior to the Galapagos departure, onto their next Port of Call,
